Problem
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted educational delivery, rendering traditional teaching and learning methods almost overnight obsolete. Universities faced a sharp decline in student satisfaction, particularly among international students. The urgent need to transition to online education created a significant challenge, making swift and effective solutions critical.
Opportunity
To explore pain points and opportunities within tertiary online education, with a focus on international students’ experiences. By identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the new learning environment, we sought to lay the groundwork for redefining and reshaping the future of education.
Solution
We developed a set of recommendations based on key themes identified during research, addressing immediate concerns to improve the international student experience in the short term.
In addition, we provided strategic recommendations and priority areas for the medium and long term.
To foster dialogue and collaboration, we created infographics distributed throughout the community. These materials served as conversation starters for rethinking and co-designing educational delivery in the post-COVID era.
Project OUTPUTS
Infographics
Summary documents with strong visual design were created to be clear and easy to understand, facilitating circulation and understanding throughout the community.
Recommendations
Key themes were identified through qualitative research, leading to the development of solutions tailored to address students' needs in the new environment.
Project Report
A report was created that includes quantitative data along with qualitative analysis to understand the problem from both a broad perspective and through specific short, mid, and long-term solutions.
